An event of it's own, the cleaning of the Strawberries takes place at the pavilion on Thursday evening before the Festival.

What to bring:

• A hat or hairnet (Health Department requirement)

• A knife (only in the U.P., eh?) but it must be sanitized onsite before use

• A bowl, again, it must be sanitized onsite before use

• Gloves (or they will be provided for you - another Health Department requirement)

• All your friends - because many hands make light work!  

 

Make sure to use our washing station when you arrive.  Local berries are washed and delivered right to your table where you will cap and slice the berries to prepare them for shortcake.   Lions members will then gather the sliced berries, add a dash of sugar and then stash them away for two full days of shortcakes.

It's a fun evening of capping, slicing and visiting with the community.   There is no fee for this event.  :)
