The festival features two parades: A children's parade held on Friday evening under the cover of the pavilion and a full parade through the main street of Chassell on Saturday morning.
Pre-registration is not required for either event. Registration is free and is held prior to each event. See the Festival Schedule for the time of each parade.
Children's Parade - Friday evening
For this parade, children (ages 0-middle school) dress up in strawberry themed costumes, ride decorated bikes, and use wagons and strollers (no motorized vehicles allowed). Posters or banners are encouraged. Entrants are divided into groups by age and parade through the crowd gathered under the cover of the pavilion. Local celebrity judges choose winning entries and prizes are awarded. Registration begins in the pavilion about an hour before the event. Look for the registration table.
A fun event for the children and entertaining for old and young alike!
The Strawberry Parade - Saturday morning
This full parade begins at the south edge of Chassell and moves north on US 41. Participation is open to all with cash prizes being awarded for the most creative entries in various categories: Strawberry, equestrian, commercial, patriotic and music. Registration and line kup begins an hour before the event. Look for the registration table.
Traffic is diverted to the Paradise Road just prior and during the parade so get there early to watch the parade. Lawn chairs, sunscreen and bags for parade candy are encouraged!
